Social Media & Social Unrest
The Montreal Police Twitter account, @SPVM, is one of the finest use of social media I have ever seen by a public institution. For the past several weeks, they tweet each night about the student demonstrations, being precise about their current whereabouts, in which direction they are heading, and if the protest is peaceful or has been declared illegal – crucial information for those participating...

I Survived FITC Toronto 2012
I attended my first FITC Toronto conference and made it out ALIVE! Three action-packed days of education and inspiration. I gained some new twitter followers, and even managed to fit in some hang-time with friends! Here’s a brief chronological run-down of the fun that was had!

My FITC Toronto Schedule
Tuesday I found out that I won a conference pass to FITC in Toronto, courtesy of Creative Niche. (It was a contest on Twitter, and I re-tweeted like crazy!) I promptly bought train tickets to Toronto (half price!) and booked a few nights in my favourite hostel in downtown TO. (And spoke to my boss, who graciously let me take 3 days vacation on very short notice!)
Future. Innovation. Technology....

Thank You, Tumblr Community! →
A HUGE thanks to all those who supported me in my quest to raise awareness and funds for the Farha Foundation and World AIDS Day!
You visited my World AIDS Day blog post, liked, reblogged, and followed me, and for that I donated a total of $33.25! Not a massive amount of money, but I am the first to say that every penny counts. It will help support those living with HIV/AIDS in Quebec, Canada....

Typography in the Woods
On a recent beautifully cold and sunny Saturday I went hiking in Parc de la rivière Doncaster. Located an hour north of Montreal, Parc Doncaster is a great place to spend the day discovering the barely-marked trails through the woods. I absolutely LOVED the directional signs for the paths, particularly the old weathered ones. I took the opportunity to test out the camera on my iPhone 4S and I was...

The Sketchbook Project: Part 1
Today was a GREAT mail day!
A couple of weeks ago I signed up for The Sketchbook Project, a project run by the Art House Co-op in Brooklyn. Today I received a package in the mail containing my new sketchbook as well as a welcome letter and the rules. I couldn’t be more excited!
The Sketchbook Project is a world-wide initiative that invites artists of any level to participate by filling...

Typenotes: Summer reading for incoming MATD... →
Though I’m not a student of Typeface Design, I still love learning about it! I’m currently reading A view of early typography: up to about 1600. It’s been a little boring at points, but I’ve definitely learnt a lot about early printing and the mechanicals related to it.
As for this summer reading list for students preparing for the MA Typeface Design, I’m already an...
Own A Colour
UNICEF and Dulux have teamed up for a great campaign to raise funds for UNICEF. They are selling each and every one of the 16.7 million colours that display on the average computer screen.
For as little at 1£ you can own a colour and help save a child’s life. I’ve chosen my colour as #a14600, RUST. It’s the orange colour that I use on my Behance and twitter profiles.
